Turquoise is a veteran name in America

Thomas Conboy, a seasoned name in the superyacht world, has been selected to lead Turquoise Yachts' sales and after-sales operations in the Americas. Having held significant positions in both Europe and the Americas throughout his forty-year career, Conboy will lead the shipyard's growth strategy in North and South America.

From captaincy to shipyard management

Conboy stands out as someone who has worked at every level of the yachting industry, starting his career as a yacht captain and having the opportunity to work directly with yacht owners.

Conboy, who previously represented Heesen Yachts in America, managed Intermarine Savannah Shipyard for 10 years before taking a position at Safe Harbor Savannah Yacht Center.

To date, Conbay has provided consultancy services for the construction, sale, and refit processes of mega yachts up to 105 meters in length.

A historic period for Turquoise Yachts.

Speaking about his new role at Turquoise Yachts , which launched the 88-meter yacht Angelique in January 2026, Thomas Conboy said, “I am honored to join Turquoise Yachts at a time when the shipyard is demonstrating its strength with a number of landmark projects.”

Target: Western Hemisphere and South America

Turquoise Yachts CEO Burak Akgül stated that Conboy's deep market knowledge is critical to the shipyard's growth objectives. Highlighting the well-established yachting culture in the United States, as well as the emerging opportunities, particularly in South America, Akgül said, “Benefiting from the experience of a veteran and respected figure in the industry like Thomas is a unique opportunity for Turquoise to strengthen its presence in the Western Hemisphere.”

Conboy, who will manage Turquoise's US operations from Fort Lauderdale, will work in coordination with the shipyard's founder Mohammed Al Barwani and CEO Burak Akgül.
